Your bike is valuable and no doubt (almost) a member of the family so it is very important that you pack it well and securely. Your local bike shop will usually be able to pack it up for you and will have the expertise and experience to ensure that the job is done properly.
You also need to consider that we will be shuttling a few times and bikes will need to be unpacked and repacked up to three times on each tour. For this reason, we strongly recommend the use of a Sci Con Aero 2.0, in which the bikes can be packed and unpacked in 15 minutes.
Other items and preparation tasks
In addition to your bike you will also need to pack (this is a guide only and not supposed to be difinitive) Three Kits, socks, undershirts, arm warmers A lightweight jacket, a wind vest and a warm cycling jacket Full finger and fingerless gloves Cycling helmet and bike shoes Sunglasses and a cycling cap Spare tubes and a spare tyre Water bottles
If you wish to take a break after the tour and embark on some onward travel, you may wish to consider storing your bike, please contact Sascha (our travel consultant) for information about this.
Please also ensure that your bike is fully serviced, fitted with NEW tyres and tubes. We do not pemit the use of carbon wheels on our tours, due t the risks of high speed braking. We also highly recommend that you bring a spare rear derailleur hanger AND a spare set of brake pads with you on tour.
